This is a new ad that I designed for Hop Up Magazine for Stewart Warner‘s Aviator gauges, which I also designed. Lots of companies have come out with aircraft inspired gauges, but they usually look too modern or not quite right. Since I am so passionate about WWII aviation, this was pretty important to get right. Based on various aircraft gauges in my collection, taking elements from a few of them, I came up with the “Aviator” series. Everyone seems to love them so far. I know I do. I can’t wait to put a set into my own project. This ad is a combination of great photography of Tim Sutton at El Mirage with a photo that I merged in of Planes of Fame‘s P-38 “Skidoo”.
