Never Forget. I was driving in to the office when the first plane hit. My boss, Bernie Mongiardidni and I were glued to NPR as we didn’t have a TV in the office. It was all so shocking and hard to comprehend. Around 11:30, we went to lunch to an Italian restaurant that we frequented and we were the only customers in the whole place. We got a table outside in the sun as we often did, and it was dead quiet, in the city of Chicago on a Tuesday afternoon, only broken by the F-16s on patrol. No sounds of traffic. No people. Dead quiet. Little did we know how much the world would change. God Bless America. πΊπΈπ½
